GBHL RULES

The Great British Hobbit League is a loose confederation of independently run MESBG events. These events come in all shapes and sizes, and there are very few restrictions on what you can do in an event for it to qualify for league status.

But, while themey events are encouraged, to ensure fairness for those competing at the highest level of the game, there are some restrictions on what events can qualify for GBHL100 or GBHL90 events in particular.

League contribution

The GBHL is a non-profit organisation, and all those on the committee are volunteers and do not make financial gain from their positions. However, to run the league and fund prizes (around 30 trophies, swords or gifts) support, we require event organisers to contribute toward this. Any money raised is put straight back into the league. We have aimed to keep the contribution as manageable as possible for hosts and believe this to be the fairest system that enables the league to function. For transparency the GBHL publishes its financial accounts for Tournament Organisers on a regular basis (at a minimum, annually).

The contribution amount differs by tournament type:

GBHL 80 = £10

GBHL 90 = £15

GBHL 100 = £20
