The Future of the League - Outriders Bring News Sept 13

From Monday 14 September new rules come into force in the UK which will sadly have a huge impact on the baby steps the league has taken to returning to normal.

The new "Rule of Six" limits the possibility of large gatherings in England once more (and with Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales implementing similar new rules) so the GBHL Committee has made the decision to suspend awarding events with points for the league for the foreseeable future.

Here's a statement from our glorious leader Alastair King:

The 7 Dwarf Lords: banned from collecting their rings.

"With the re-introduction of restrictions introduced across the UK to combat the pandemic, it is with great sadness that the management committee has decided to reintroduce the suspension of the GBHL until further notice.

Some venues may be able to implement measures to facilitate some form of safe gaming, but the committee has made this decision to ensure we do not compromise the player experience at GBHL events, nor unfairly disadvantage those who can't attend venues which are holding large events. We also wouldn't want to encourage players or organisers to undertake actions which could have the potential to be illegal at this moment of time.

We will be regularly reviewing the situation, and provide updates when we have further information.

In the mean time if you have bought a ticket to an upcoming event we suggest you look out for any information and updates on their relevant event pages.

If there are any further questions please feel free to contact any of the management committee or comment below.

Stay safe,

Alastair King League coordinator"

Despite the suspension of the league, there is joy to be had in the last week.

Check the blog again soon for a write up of the only event to have taken place in the league in the short window during which events were allowed!
