"9 Companions... You Shall be the Fellowship of the Team"

The Great British Hobbit League has, since its inception, been associated with Fellowships. Not just the obvious connection to the ones formed by characters' in the works of Tolkien, but also those forged in the fires of battle at GBHL events. Friends and Foes on the tabletop come together to form alliances over good food and general merriment...

In the past there have been only a few ways in which those alliances could be utilised... Doubles Events like the long running Seven Stones event in Twickenham, which returns in May this year; and the odd team event like Ardacon which returns to the GBHL this August as one of the biggest events in the world (for more info on how to get tickets for these events have a look at the events calendar here).

UNTIL NOW

As we teased at the end of last year's league you can now form a Fellowship of your own to compete in The GBHL as a group. Perhaps you've never considered yourself a top player, often finding youself in midtable obscurity at the end of a tournament (or even lower!), well now your middling scores can matter, potentially propelling your teammates to greatness.

It's a simple concept.

Who shall be your Fellowship of the League?

You form an alliance with up to 8 other players, invent an amusing (perhaps risque...) name for your team, submit this form and attend GBHL Events over the course of the year.

The top ten scores (each player can only contribute a max of TWO scores) add up to a grand total which could see your Fellowship taking home fancy prizes at the end of the year.

But of course, the REAL prize will be sharing in the ups and downs of events you yourself aren't able to attend, cheering on your compadres, assisting newer players, and welcoming people to the community.

So, sharpen your wits, weapons and list writing skills...

Because 2023 is the year of GBHL Teams.
