Looking for a day of toy soldiers with a brother or sister in arms? The Bear and Bard in Warwickshire will see around 30 pairs do battle over the course of one bloodthirsty Sunday this weekend.
Ideal for someone new to the game needing a helping hand, or for someone keen to drag a friend into the hobby. This friendly tourney will give players "whatever they are hoping for from an event, whether that be casual, competitive or thematic gaming", according to Tournament Organiser Jack Vickery.
Happening at a cricket club, its spacious hall fits a huge number of people in, and comes with a fully licensed bar for a quick snifter at lunch to ease the pain of an ignominious loss in early rounds.
Prizes include "some really nice prizes in the form of wooden engraved swords from the books" which, it's fair to say, sound pretty sweeet.
With Doubles Tournaments a rare commodity, this should be a great chance to earn some valuable GBHL Points, and maybe get an early start on the League table too...
